ഡോക്യുമെന്ററി ഫിലിം മേക്കർ കാർത്തികി ഗോൺസാൽവസ് ആദ്യമായി സംവിധാനം ചെയ്‌ത 2022-ലെ തമിഴ് ഭാഷാ ഹ്രസ്വ ഡോക്യുമെന്ററി ചിത്രമാണ് ദ എലിഫന്റ് വിസ്‌പറേഴ്‌സ് . ഇൻഡോ-അമേരിക്കൻ കോ-പ്രൊഡക്ഷനായ ഡോക്യുമെന്ററി തമിഴ്നാട്ടിലെ ദമ്പതികളായ ബൊമ്മനും ബെല്ലിയും രഘു എന്ന അനാഥ ആനക്കുട്ടിയെ പരിപാലിക്കുന്നതിനായി അവരുടെ ജീവിതം ഉഴിഞ്ഞുവെക്കുന്നതിനെക്കുറിച്ചാണ്. സിഖ്യ എന്റർടൈൻമെന്റ് നിർമ്മിച്ച ഈ ചിത്രത്തിന്റെ പ്രീമിയർ 2022 നവംബർ 9-ന് യുണൈറ്റഡ് സ്റ്റേറ്റ്സിലെ ഡോക്യുമെന്ററികൾക്കായുള്ള ചലച്ചിത്രമേളയായ ഡോക് എൻ‌വൈ‌സി ഫിലിം ഫെസ്റ്റിവലിൽ നടന്നു.[3]
2022 ഡിസംബർ 8-ന് സ്ട്രീമിംഗിനായി നെറ്റ്ഫ്ലിക്സ് ആഗോളതലത്തിൽ ചിത്രം റിലീസ് ചെയ്തു. 95-ാമത് അക്കാദമി അവാർഡിൽ മികച്ച ഡോക്യുമെന്ററി ഷോർട്ട് ഫിലിമിനുള്ള അക്കാദമി അവാർഡ് നേടി.[4][5] ഡോക്യുമെന്ററി വിഭാഗത്തിൽ അക്കാദമി അവാർഡ് നേടുന്ന ആദ്യ ഇന്ത്യൻ സിനിമയായി ദ എലിഫന്റ് വിസ്‌പറേഴ്‌സ് മാറി.[6]
