കോഴ്‌സറ Inc. (/kərˈsɛrə/) എന്നത് സ്റ്റാൻഫോർഡ് യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റി കമ്പ്യൂട്ടർ സയൻസ് പ്രൊഫസർമാരായ ആൻഡ്രൂ എൻജിയും ഡാഫ്‌നെ കോളറും ചേർന്ന് 2012ൽ[5][6]സ്ഥാപിച്ച ഒരു യുഎസ് അധിഷ്ഠിത ഓപ്പൺ ഓൺലൈൻ കോഴ്‌സ് ദാതാവാണ്.[7]വിവിധ വിഷയങ്ങളിൽ ഓൺലൈൻ കോഴ്സുകൾ, സർട്ടിഫിക്കേഷനുകൾ, ബിരുദങ്ങൾ എന്നിവ വാഗ്ദാനം ചെയ്യുന്നതിനായി കോഴ്‌സറ സർവകലാശാലകളുമായും മറ്റ് ഓർഗനൈസേഷനുകളുമായും ചേർന്ന് പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നു. 2023-ൽ 275+ സർവകലാശാലകളും കമ്പനികളും കോഴ്‌സറ വഴി 4,000-ലധികം കോഴ്സുകൾ വാഗ്ദാനം ചെയ്യുന്നു.[8]

ചരിത്രം[തിരുത്തുക]

2012-ൽ[9] സ്റ്റാൻഫോർഡ് യൂണിവേഴ്‌സിറ്റി കമ്പ്യൂട്ടർ സയൻസ് പ്രൊഫസർമാരായ ആൻഡ്രൂ എൻജിയും ഡാഫ്‌നെ കോളറും ചേർന്നാണ് കോഴ്‌സറ സ്ഥാപിച്ചത്.[10]എൻ‌ജിയും കോളറും അവരുടെ സ്റ്റാൻഫോർഡ് കോഴ്‌സുകൾ 2011-ലെ ഒരു ശരത്കാലത്തിലാണ് ഓൺലൈനിൽ വാഗ്ദാനം ചെയ്യാൻ തുടങ്ങിയത്,[11] ഉടൻ തന്നെ സ്റ്റാൻഫോർഡ് വിട്ട് കോഴ്‌സറ ആരംഭിച്ചു. പ്രിൻസ്റ്റൺ സ്റ്റാൻഫോർഡ്, യൂണിവേഴ്‌സിറ്റി ഓഫ് മിഷിഗൺ, യൂണിവേഴ്‌സിറ്റി ഓഫ് പെൻസിൽവാനിയ എന്നിവയാണ് ഈ പ്ലാറ്റ്‌ഫോമിൽ ഉള്ളടക്കം നൽകാൻ തയ്യാറായ ആദ്യത്തെ സർവകലാശാലകൾ.[12]

2014-ൽ കോഴ്‌സറയ്ക്ക് വെബ്ബി വിന്നർ (Websites and Mobile Sites Education 2014), പീപ്പിൾസ് വോയ്സ് വിന്നർ (Websites and Mobile Sites Education) തുടങ്ങിയ അവാർഡുകൾ ലഭിച്ചു.[13]

2021 മാർച്ചിൽ, കോഴ്‌സറ പ്രാഥമിക ഓഹരി വിൽപ്പനയ്‌ക്കായി(IPO) ഫയൽ ചെയ്തു.[14]ഫയലിംഗ് നടത്തിയത് പ്രകാരം ഒൻപത് വർഷം പഴക്കമുള്ള കമ്പനി ഡിസംബർ 31 ന് അവസാനിച്ച സാമ്പത്തിക വർഷത്തിൽ ഏകദേശം 293 മില്യൺ ഡോളർ വരുമാനം നേടി - 2019 മുതൽ 59% വളർച്ചാ നിരക്ക് നേടി. അറ്റ നഷ്ടം(net loss) പ്രതിവർഷം ഏകദേശം 20 ദശലക്ഷം ഡോളർ വർദ്ധിച്ചു, 2020-ൽ അത് 66.8 മില്യൺ ഡോളറിലെത്തി.[15]കോഴ്‌സറ 2020-ൽ മാർക്കറ്റിംഗിനായി $107 ദശലക്ഷം ചെലവഴിച്ചു.[16]
