ഒരിനം ഗോൾഡ് ഫിഷ് ആണ് ഒറന്റ. ഈ മത്സ്യത്തിന്റെ തലയിൽ കുമിളയ്ക്ക് സമാനമായ "ഹുഡ്" കാണപ്പെടുന്നു. ഹെഡ്ഗ്രൗണ്ട് അഥവാ ഹുഡ് (വെൻ അല്ലെങ്കിൽ കിരീടം എന്നും അറിയപ്പെടുന്നു) എന്നത് തലയുടെ (cranial region) മുകളിൽ ഒരു പ്രധാന വളർച്ചയായിരിക്കാം.(cranial region) മുഴുവൻ മുഖത്തും കണ്ണ്, വായ് എന്നിവയൊഴികെയുള്ള ഭാഗം മുഴുവനും ഹുഡ് കൊണ്ട് മൂടപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.[1][2][3] ആദ്യമായി ചൈനയിൽ നിന്ന് ജപ്പാനിലേക്ക് ഈ മത്സ്യത്തെ ഇറക്കുമതി ചെയ്യപ്പെട്ടപ്പോൾ നെതർലാന്റ് സ്വദേശികളാണെന്ന് തെറ്റിദ്ധരിക്കപ്പെട്ടു. അതുകൊണ്ട് "ഹോളണ്ട് ലയൺമാസ്ക്" (オ ラ ン ダ子)"(Holland Lionmask)" എന്നതിനെ ഡച്ച് ലയൺഹെഡ്, നെതർലാന്റ്സ് ലയൺഹെഡ് (オランダ獅子頭),എന്ന് പേരു കൊടുക്കുകയും ഇതിൽ നിന്ന് ഇംഗ്ലീഷിൽ "ഒറന്റ "എന്ന പേരുല്ഭവിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.

അതിന്റെ തലയിലും മുഖത്തിന്റെ വശങ്ങളിലേയ്ക്കും ഉള്ള മാംസളമായ ആധിക്യം മൂലം ഒറന്റ ഗോൾഡ് ഫിഷ് എന്ന പേരിൽ പ്രശസ്തമാണ്. ചൈനീസ് അക്വാറിസ്റ്റുകൾ ഇതിനെ 'വെൻ' ('wen') എന്ന് ആണ് വിവരിച്ചിട്ടുള്ളത്. ജനപ്രിയമായ ഇവ തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കപ്പെട്ട ഇനങ്ങളിൽ പ്രജനനം നടത്തുന്നു[4].

- The nagate oranda is a long body oranda developed in Shikoku, south west area of Japan.
- The panda oranda is a variety of oranda that is bi-colored or tri-colored, most identifiable by the black-and-white coloration for which it is named.
