1943 ൽ സിംഗപ്പൂരിൽ സ്ഥാപിതമായ ഇംപീരിയൽ ജാപ്പനീസ് പിന്തുണയുള്ള ആസാദ് ഹിന്ദ് സർക്കാർ നൽകിയ ഏറ്റവും ഉയർന്ന സൈനിക അവാർഡാണ് ഷേർ-ഇ-ഹിന്ദ് (ടൈഗർ ഓഫ് ഇൻഡ്യ).[1] ജർമ്മനിയിൽ സുഭാഷ് ചന്ദ്രബോസ് സ്ഥാപിച്ച ഈ പുരസ്കാരം പിന്നീട് ദക്ഷിണ കിഴക്കൻ ഏഷ്യയിലെ ഇന്ത്യൻ നാഷണൽ ആർമിയിലെ സൈനികർക്കും നൽകി. വാളുകൾ കൊണ്ട് പോരാട്ടമോ യുദ്ധമോ നടത്താതെ ഈ അവാർഡ് ലഭിക്കുമായിരുന്നില്ല. ക്യാപ്റ്റൻ ബാറു സിംഗ്, ക്യാപ്റ്റൻ കുൻവാൽ സിംഗ്, ക്യാപ്റ്റൻ ഗണേഷി ലാൽ എന്നിവർക്കാണ് ഈ പുരസ്കാരം ലഭിച്ചത്.
