പ്രശസ്തനായ ഒരു മൃദംഗവാദകനായിരുന്ന രാമനാഥപുരം സി.എസ്.മുരുകഭൂപതി തമിഴു്നാട്ടിലെ രാമനാഥപുരത്താണ് ജനിച്ചത്.( ഫെ:14, 1914 — മാർച്ച് 21, 1998). പിതാവായ ചിത് സഭൈ സെർവായ് ആണ് മൃദംഗത്തിന്റെ ബാലപാഠങ്ങൾ അദ്ദേഹത്തെ അഭ്യസിപ്പിച്ചത്. തുടർന്ന് പഴനി സുബ്രഹ്മണ്യപിള്ളയുടേയും പുതുകോട്ടൈ മമ്മുദിയപിള്ളയുടേയും ശിക്ഷണം ലഭിച്ചു.[1] പാലക്കാട്ട് മണിഅയ്യരുടേയും,പഴനി സുബ്രഹ്മണ്യപിള്ളയുടേയും സമകാലികനായിരുന്ന മുരുക ഭൂപതിയെ അവരോടൊപ്പം 'മൃദംഗവാദക ത്രയ'ങ്ങളിൽ പെട്ടയാളെന്നു സംഗീതാഭിജ്ഞർ വിശേഷിപ്പിയ്ക്കുന്നു.[2]
