പേർസെപോളിസ് എന്ന ഗ്രാഫിക് നോവലിന്റെ വിജയത്തെത്തുടർന്ന് അതിനെ ആധാരമാക്കിയുള്ള സിനിമ സംവിധാനം ചെയ്യുകയും, മികച്ച അനിമേഷൻ സിനിമയ്ക്കുള്ള അക്കാദമി പുരസ്കാരത്തിന് നാമനിർദേശം ചെയ്യപ്പെടുന്ന ആദ്യ വനിതയാവുകയും ചെയ്തു.

സത്രാപിയുടെ ഭർത്താവും, സ്വീഡിഷ് നടനും ചലച്ചിത്ര നിർമ്മാതാവുമായിരുന്ന മാറ്റിയാസ് റിപ്പയെ കണ്ടുമുട്ടിയ ശേഷം,[4] ഫ്രാൻസിലെ പാരിസിലാണ് ജീവിതം തുടർന്നത്.[5] 2025 ഏപ്രിൽ 8-ന് തന്റെ 53-ാം വയസ്സിലാണ് റിപ്പ കാൻസർ ബാധിച്ചതിനെത്തുടർന്ന് അന്തരിച്ചത്.[6] പാരിസിൽ ചലച്ചിത്രപഠനം നടത്താനാഗ്രഹിക്കുന്ന വിദേശ വിദ്യാർത്ഥികൾക്ക് സഹായങ്ങൾ ലഭ്യമാക്കുന്നതിനായി റിപ്പയുടെ മരണശേഷം, മാറ്റിയാസ് ആന്റ് മർജാനെ റിപ്പ-സത്രാപി സിനിമ ഫൗണ്ടേഷൻ എന്ന പേരിലുള്ള സംഘടനയ്ക്കും സത്രപി രൂപം നൽകിയിരുന്നു.[4]

റിപ്പയുടെ മരണത്തെത്തുടർന്ന് സത്രാപി, അതിയായ വിഷാദത്തിലാവുകയും 2026 ഏപ്രിലിൽ മാനസികാരോഗ്യം വീണ്ടെടുക്കുന്നതിനായി ജർമനിയിലെ മ്യൂണിച്ചിലുള്ള ഒരു ക്ലിനിക് സന്ദർശിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തിരുന്നു.[7] 2026 ജൂൺ 4-ന് സത്രാപി അന്തരിച്ചു.[a] "ഭർത്താവിന്റെ മരണത്തെ തുടർന്നുള്ള വിഷാദം" കാരണമാണ് മരണം സംഭവിച്ചതെന്നാണ് മറ്റ് കുടുംബാംഗങ്ങൾ അഭിപ്രായപ്പെട്ടത്.
