മുതിർന്ന സോഷ്യലിസ്റ്റ് നേതാവും മുൻ എം.പിയുമായിരുന്നു മണി രാം ബാഗ്രി ( -31 ജനുവരി 2012). പ്രമുഖ സോഷ്യലിസ്റ്റ് നേതാവ് രാജ് നാരായണിന്റെ അടുത്ത അനുയായി ആയിരുന്നു. 1972-74 കാലഘട്ടത്തിൽ സംയുക്ത സോഷ്യലിസ്റ്റ് പാർട്ടി ജനറൽസെക്രട്ടറിയായിരുന്നു. അടിയന്തരാവസ്ഥയിൽ മിസാ പ്രകാരം ഇന്ദിരാഗാന്ധി സർക്കാർ ബാഗ്രിയെ തടങ്കലിലടച്ചിരുന്നു[1]
3, 6, 7 ലോക്സഭകളിൽ എം.പി[2] സ്ഥാനം വഹിച്ചിരുന്ന ബാഗ്രി അവിഭക്ത പഞ്ചാബ് നിയമസഭയിലെ അംഗവുമായിരുന്നു. ചെറുപ്പകാലം മുതൽ ദേശീയപ്രസ്ഥാനങ്ങളിൽ പങ്കുവഹിച്ച ബാഗ്രി ആചാര്യ നരേന്ദ്രദേവ്, ജയപ്രകാശ് നാരായൺ, രാം മനോഹർ ലോഹ്യ എന്നിവർക്കു കീഴിൽ സോഷ്യലിസ്റ്റ് പ്രസ്ഥാനത്തിൽ അണിചേർന്നു.[3]
