ബ്രയാൻ ബ്രെൻഡൻ ടാൽബട്ട് ക്ലീവ് (ജീവിതകാലം : 22 നവംബർ 1921 മുതൽ 11 മാർച്ച് 2003 വരെ) ഒരു പ്രസിദ്ധനായ എഴുത്തുകാരനായിരുന്നു. അദ്ദേഹത്തിൻറെതായി 21 നോവലുകളും നൂറിലധികം ചെറുകഥകളും പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിക്കപ്പെട്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്. ബ്രയാൻ ക്ലീവിൻറെ പിതാവ് ഐറിഷുകാരനും മാതാവ് ഇംഗ്ലീഷുകാരിയുമായിരുന്നു. ജനിച്ചതും വളർന്നതും ഇംഗ്ലണ്ടിലായിരുന്നു. സൌത്ത് ആഫ്രിക്കയിൽ നാഷണൽ പാർട്ടിയുടെ ഭരണത്തിൻറെ ആദ്യകാലങ്ങളിൽ അദ്ദേഹം സൌത്ത് ആഫ്രിക്കയിൽ ജീവിച്ചിരുന്നു. വർണ്ണവിവേചനത്തിനെതിരെ പ്രവർത്തിച്ചിതാൽ അവിടെനിന്നു പുറത്താക്കപ്പെട്ടു. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ മുപ്പതുകളുടെ ആരംഭത്തിൽ അയർലന്റിലേയ്ക്കു നീങ്ങുകയും ബാക്കിയുള്ള ജീവതകാലം അവിടെ കഴിച്ചുകൂട്ടുകയും ചെയ്തിരുന്നു.
