പലസ്തീൻ വിമോചനത്തിനായി 1964 മുതൽ പ്രവർത്തിച്ചുവരുന്ന സംഘടനയാണ് പലസ്തീൻ ലിബറേഷൻ ഓർഗനൈസേഷൻ അഥവാ പി.എൽ.ഒ. (അറബി: منظمة التحرير الفلسطينية‬; Munaẓẓamat at-Taḥrīr al-Filasṭīniyyahⓘ). ലോകരാജ്യങ്ങൾക്കിടയിൽ പലസ്തീൻ ജനതയുടെ ഔദ്യോഗിക പ്രതിനിധാനമാണ് പി.എൽ.ഒ. നൂറോളം രാജ്യങ്ങളുമായി നയതന്ത്രബന്ധം നിലവിലുണ്ട്[4][5] 1974 മുതൽ ഐക്യരാഷ്ട്രസഭയിൽ നിരീക്ഷകാംഗമാണ്[6][7][8]. സായുധസമരത്തിലൂന്നി പ്രവർത്തിച്ചിരുന്ന പാർട്ടി 1991ലെ മാഡ്രിഡ് ഉച്ചകോടിക്ക് ശേഷം ഇസ്രയേലുമായി സമാധാനചർച്ചകൾക്ക് സന്നദ്ധമായി. അതുവരേയും അമേരിക്കയും ഇസ്രയേലും സംഘടനയെ ഭീകരസംഘടനയായാണ് പരിഗണിച്ചിരുന്നത്. 1993-ൽ ഇസ്രയേലും പി.എൽ.ഒ യും പരസ്പരം അംഗീകരിക്കുകയുണ്ടായി[9].


രൂപീകരണം

1964-ൽ കൈറോയിൽ വെച്ച് നടന്ന അറബ് ഉച്ച്കോടിയിൽ നടന്ന ചർച്ചകളുടെ ഫലമായി അതേവർഷം ജൂൺ രണ്ടിന് പി.എൽ.ഒ രൂപീകൃതമായി. സായുധമാർഗ്ഗത്തിലൂടെ പലസ്തീന്റെ മോചനം എന്നതായിരുന്നു മുദ്രാവാക്യം[10] [11].
