തെക്കു കിഴക്കേ ഏഷ്യയിൽ വടക്ക് ഭാഗം ചൈനവരെയും,കിഴക്ക് ചൈനാ സമുദ്രം വരെയും വ്യപിച്ചു കിടക്കുന്ന ഒരു മുനമ്പാണ് ഇന്തോ-ചൈന . കംബോഡിയ,വിയറ്റ്നാം,ലാവോസ് എന്നീ രാജ്യങ്ങൾ ഉൾക്കൊള്ളുന്ന ഈ പ്രദേശത്തിന് 740,000 ച.കി.മീ. വിസ്തീർണമുണ്ട്.
ചരിത്രം
1887 ഒക്ടോബർ 19 ന് നിലവിൽ വന്ന ഇന്തോ-ചൈന യൂനിയൻ പിന്നീട് 1945 ൽ കംബോഡിയ,വിയറ്റ്നാം,ലവോസ് എന്നീ രാജ്യങ്ങളായി വേർപിരിഞ്ഞു.പ്രാചീന കാലം മുതൽ തന്നെ ഇവിടെ ജനവാസമുണ്ട്.മലായ്-ഇന്തോനേഷ്യൻ വർഗ്ഗക്കാരാണ് ആദിമനിവാസികൾ.ബുദ്ധമതം,താവോയിസം,കൺഫ്യൂഷനിസം എന്നിവയാണ് പ്രബല മതങ്ങൾ.വിയറ്റ്നാമിൽ പ്രേതാരാധനക്കാർക്കായിരുന്നു ഭൂരിപക്ഷം.ബംഗാളി-തമിഴ് വംശജരിൽ ഹിന്ദുമത്തിനും, മലായ്-ചാംപ് വംശജരിൽ ഇസ്ലാമിനും സ്വാധീനമുണ്ട്.
