തോമസ് ജെഫേഴ്സൺ നിർമ്മിച്ച രണ്ട് മതപരമായ കൃതികളിൽ ഒന്നാണ് . ജെഫേഴ്സൺ ബൈബിൾ. കൈയെഴുത്തുപ്രതികൾ ജെഫേഴ്സൺ സമാഹരിച്ചെങ്കിലും അവ ഒരിക്കലും പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ചില്ല. ആദ്യത്തേത്, ദി ഫിലോസഫി ഓഫ് ജീസസ് ഓഫ് നസ്രത്ത്, 1804-ൽ പൂർത്തിയായി. എന്നാൽ ഇന്ന് കോപ്പികളൊന്നും നിലവിലില്ല.[1] രണ്ടാമത്തേത്, ദി ലൈഫ് ആൻഡ് മോറൽസ് ഓഫ് ജീസസ് ഓഫ് നസ്രത്ത്, 1820-ൽ പൂർത്തിയാക്കിയത് റേസർ ഉപയോഗിച്ച് വെട്ടി ഒട്ടിച്ചും പുതിയ നിയമത്തിൽ നിന്നുള്ള നിരവധി ഭാഗങ്ങൾ യേശുവിന്റെ ഉപദേശങ്ങളായി പൂർത്തിയാക്കി. ജെഫേഴ്സന്റെ സംഗ്രഹിച്ച രചന യേശുവിന്റെ എല്ലാ അത്ഭുതങ്ങളെയും ഒഴിവാക്കുന്നു, കൂടാതെ പുനരുത്ഥാനവും മറ്റ് മിക്ക അത്ഭുതങ്ങളും ഉൾക്കൊള്ളുന്ന നാല് സുവിശേഷങ്ങളുടെ ഭാഗങ്ങളും യേശുവിനെ ദൈവികനായി ചിത്രീകരിക്കുന്ന ഭാഗങ്ങളും ഉൾപ്പെടെ അമാനുഷികത്തെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള മിക്ക പരാമർശങ്ങളും ഉൾപ്പെടുന്നു.[2][3][4][5]

Thomas Jefferson created his own version of the gospels; he was uncomfortable with any reference to miracles, so with two copies of the New Testament, he cut and pasted them together, excising all references to miracles, from turning water to wine, to the resurrection.
