കനേഡിയൻ ജീവരസതത്രജ്ഞനാണ് ജയിംസ് കോളിപ്.(ജ:നവം:20, 1892 –മ: ജൂൺ 9, 1965).ഇൻസുലിന്റെ കണ്ടുപിടിത്തത്തിൽ നിർണ്ണായക പങ്കാണ് കോളിപ് വഹിച്ചത്. പ്രമേഹ രോഗിയായ ലിയോനാർഡ് തോംസൺ എന്ന ബാലനിൽ കോളിപ് സംബന്ധിച്ച് നടത്തിയ പരീക്ഷണങ്ങൾ വിജയമായിരുന്നു.ഹോർമോണുകളെ സംബന്ധിച്ച കോളിപ്പിന്റെ പഠനങ്ങൾ ശ്രദ്ധേയമാണ്.[3]
