കടൽവാത്തകളുടെ കുടുംബത്തിലുള്ള വലിയ വെളുത്ത കടൽപ്പക്ഷികളുടെ ഒരു ജനുസായ മോറസിലെ അംഗങ്ങളാണ് ഗന്നെറ്റ് (Gannet). മഞ്ഞകലർന്ന തലയും കറുത്ത കൂർത്ത ചിറകുകളും നീണ്ട ചുണ്ടുകളും ഇതിൻറെ സവിശേഷതകളാണ്. പുരാതന ഗ്രീക്ക് ഭാഷയിൽ മോറോസ് എന്നാൽ "മണ്ടൻ", എന്നാണ്.[1] ഇതിൻറെ ഭയമില്ലായ്മ കാരണം ബ്രീഡിംഗ് ഗന്നെറ്റുകളും, ബൂബികളെയും എളുപ്പത്തിൽ കൊല്ലാൻ സാധിക്കുന്നു.[2]
