സിന്ധു നദീതടസംസ്കാര നാഗരികതയുടെ മുന്നോടിയായി നാഗരികത നിലനിന്നുരുന്ന സ്ഥലമാണ് കോട്ട് ഡിജി (സിന്ധി: ڪوٽ Ur; ഉറുദു: کوٹ). [1] ഇവിടത്തെ ജനത സിന്ധുനദീതടവാസികളുടെ പൂർവികരായിരുന്നു എന്ന് കരുതപ്പെടുന്നു. ഇവിടങ്ങളിൽ നിന്ന് ലഭിച്ച കളിമൺ പാത്രങ്ങളിൽ ഹരപ്പയിലെ കളിമൺ പാത്രങ്ങൾക്ക് സമാനമായ രീതിയിൽ മത്സ്യത്തിന്റെ ശൽകങ്ങളുടെ ചിത്രങ്ങൾ ആലേഖനം ചെയ്തിരുന്നു. പാകിസ്താൻ ആർക്കിയോളജി വകുപ്പ് 1955 ലും 1957 ലും കോട്ട് ഡിജിയിൽ ഖനനം നടത്തി. പാകിസ്താനിലെ സിന്ധ് പ്രവിശ്യയിലെ ഖൈർപൂരിന് തെക്ക് 24 കിലോമീറ്റർ തെക്കായാണ് കോട്ട് ഡിജി സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നത് (സിന്ധിന്റെ കിഴക്ക് ഭഗത്ത് മൊഹൻജൊ-ദാരോയ്ക്ക് എതിർവശത്തായി). [6]
