തെക്കേ ഏഷ്യയിലെ ഇലപൊഴിയും വനങ്ങളിലാണ് കാണുന്നത്. അലാസ്കയിൽ രണ്ടു തവണ കണ്ടാതായി രേഖപ്പെടുത്തിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.
