വിഖ്യാത ഫ്രഞ്ച് ചിത്രകാരൻ ആണ് പോൾ ഗോഗിൻ. നാവികനായിരുന്നു. പിന്നീട് സ്റ്റോക്ക് എക്സ്ചേഞ്ചിൽ സേവനമനുഷ്ഠിച്ചു. 1870-ൽ പിസ്സാറോയുമായി സമ്പർക്കത്തിലായി. 1883 മുതൽ ചിത്രകലയിൽ ശ്രദ്ധ കേന്ദ്രീകരിച്ചു. 1891-ൽ താഹിതിയിലേക്കുപോയി. മികച്ച ചിത്രങ്ങൾ: ദ സ്പിരിട്ട് ഒഫ് ദ ഡെഡ് വാച്ചിങ്, ദ ഡേ ഒഫ് ഗോഡ്, ദ യെല്ലോ ക്രൈസ്റ്റ്, വെയർ ഡൂ വി കം ഫ്രം, വാട്ട് ആർ വി, വെയർ ആർ വി ഗോയിങ്.
