ഒരു ഓസ്ട്രിയൻ നിയമവിദഗ്ദ്ധനും നിയമജ്ഞനും രാഷ്ട്രീയ തത്വചിന്തകനുമാണ് ഹാൻസ് കെൽസെൻ (German: [hans ˈkɛlsən]; October 11, 1881 – April 19, 1973). 1920-ൽ ഓസ്ട്രിയൻ ഭരണഘടന (ഏതാണ്ട് വലിയ മാറ്റമൊന്നുമില്ലാതെ ഇപ്പോഴും പ്രയോഗത്തിലുള്ള) എഴുതിയത് അദ്ദേഹമാണ് .

ജീവചരിത്രം

ആദ്യകാല ജീവിതം

കെൽസൺ പ്രാഗിൽ ഒരു മധ്യവർഗ, ജർമ്മൻ ഭാഷ സംസാരിക്കുന്ന ജൂത കുടുംബത്തിൽ ജനിച്ചു. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ പിതാവ് അഡോൾഫ് കെൽസൺ ഗലീഷ്യയിൽ നിന്നുള്ളയാളും, അമ്മ ആഗസ്റ്റെ ലോവി ബൊഹീമിയയിൽ നിന്നുള്ളയാളുമായിരുന്നു. ഹാൻസ് അവരുടെ ആദ്യ കുട്ടിയായിരുന്നു. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് രണ്ട് ഇളയ സഹോദരന്മാരും ഒരു സഹോദരിയും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. 1884-ൽ ഹാൻസിന് മൂന്ന് വയസ്സുള്ളപ്പോൾ കുടുംബം വിയന്നയിലേക്ക് താമസം മാറി. അക്കാദമിഷെസ് ജിംനേഷ്യത്തിൽ നിന്ന് ബിരുദം നേടിയ ശേഷം വിയന്ന സർവകലാശാലയിൽ നിന്ന് നിയമം പഠിച്ച കെൽസൺ 1906 മെയ് 18 ന് നിയമത്തിൽ ഡോക്ടറേറ്റ് (ഡോ. ജൂറിസ്) നേടുകയും 1911 മാർച്ച് 9 ന് യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റി പ്രഭാഷണങ്ങൾ നടത്താനുള്ള ലൈസൻസ് നേടുകയും ചെയ്തു. ജീവിതത്തിൽ രണ്ടുതവണ കെൽസൺ വ്യത്യസ്ത മതവിഭാഗങ്ങളിലേക്ക് പരിവർത്തനം ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ട്. ഡാന്റേയെയും കത്തോലിക്കാ മതത്തെയും കുറിച്ചുള്ള തന്റെ പ്രബന്ധത്തിന്റെ സമയത്ത്, 1905 ജൂൺ 10 ന് കെൽസൺ ഒരു റോമൻ കത്തോലിക്കനായി സ്നാനമേറ്റു. 1912 മെയ് 25 ന് അദ്ദേഹം മാർഗരറ്റ് ബോണ്ടിയെ (1890–1973) വിവാഹം കഴിച്ചു. കുറച്ച് ദിവസങ്ങൾക്ക് മുമ്പ് ഓഗ്സ്ബർഗ് കൻഫെഷനിലെ ലൂഥറനിസത്തിലേക്ക് ഇരുവരും പരിവർത്തനം ചെയ്തിരുന്നു. അവർക്ക് രണ്ട് പെൺമക്കളുണ്ടായിരുന്നു.
