സോഫിയ ബി ജോൺസ് (മേയ് 16, 1857 - സെപ്റ്റംബർ 8, 1932) കനേഡിയൻ വംശജയായ ആഫ്രോ-അമേരിക്കൻ മെഡിക്കൽ ഡോക്ടറായിരുന്നു, മിഷിഗൺ യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റി മെഡിക്കൽ സ്കൂളിൽ നിന്ന് ബിരുദം നേടിയ ആദ്യത്തെ കറുത്തവർഗ്ഗക്കാരി. അവൾ സ്പെൽമാൻ കോളേജിൽ നഴ്സിംഗ് പ്രോഗ്രാം സ്ഥാപിച്ചു, സ്പെൽമാൻ കോളേജിലെ ആദ്യത്തെ കറുത്തവർഗ്ഗക്കാരനായ ഫാക്കൽറ്റി അംഗമായിരുന്നു. ജെയിംസ് മൺറോ ജോൺസിന്റെയും എമിലി എഫ്. ഫ്രാൻസിസ് ജോൺസിന്റെയും മകളായി ഒന്റാറിയോയിലെ ചാത്തമിലാണ് സോഫിയ ബെഥേന ജോൺസ് ജനിച്ചത്. തോക്കുനിർമ്മാണ തച്ചൻ ആയിരുന്ന അവളുടെ പിതാവ് നോർത്ത് കരോലിനയിൽ ജനിച്ചു, ഒബർലിൻ കോളേജിലെ ആദ്യത്തെ കറുത്തവർഗ്ഗക്കാരിൽ ഒരാളായിരുന്നു. ഒരു അടിമ കുടുംബത്തിൽ ജനിച്ച അദ്ദേഹം 1843-ൽ [3] സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യം വാങ്ങി. സോഫിയ ജനിച്ച വർഷം, കാനഡയിൽ ജോൺ ബ്രൗണിന്റെ അടിമത്തഉന്മൂലന പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങളിൽ അദ്ദേഹം പങ്കാളിയായിരുന്നു.
