ലാവോസിലെ സ്ത്രീകൾ തങ്ങളുടെ രാഷ്ട്രത്തിന്റെ സമൂഹത്തിൽ വളരെയധികം ഭാഗഭാക്കാകുന്നുണ്ട്. രാഷ്ട്രീയത്തിലും സാമൂഹ്യ പരിവർത്തനത്തിലും വികസനത്തിലും ചേർന്നുപ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നു. ബിസിനസ്സ് രംഗത്തും നഴ്സുമാരായും സൈന്യത്തിനായുള്ള ഭക്ഷണം നിർമ്മിക്കാനും അവർ വളരെ പ്രവർത്തനക്ഷമമാണ്. ആധുനികവത്കരണത്തിന്റെ ഫലമായി ലാവോ സ്ത്രീകൾ തങ്ങളുടെ പാരമ്പര്യരീതികൾ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ച് പാശ്ചാത്യരീതികൾ അവലംബിച്ചുവരുന്നുണ്ട്.[2]
