തുടക്ക ക്രിറ്റേഷ്യസ് കാലത്ത് ജീവിച്ചിരുന്ന ഒരു വലിയ സമുദ്ര ഉരഗം ആണ് മലവാനിയ. ഇക്തിയോസൗർ കുടുംബത്തിൽപ്പെട്ട ജീവിയാണ് ഇത്. പേരിന്റെ അർത്ഥം 'കാലത്തിന് അതീതനായ നീന്തൽക്കാരൻ' എന്നാണ്. ഇറാഖിലെ കുർദ് മേഖലയിൽ നിന്നാണ് ഫോസിൽ കണ്ടു കിട്ടിയിട്ടുള്ളത് . [1]
