റവ. മരതകവല്ലി ഡേവിഡ് (1950ൽ ജനിച്ചു[1]2011.'ഒകടോബറിൽ അന്തരിച്ചു. [7] 1989ൽ.[7]ചർച്ച് ഓഫ് സൗത്ത് ഇന്ത്യയുടെ സിരോസ്ഥാനമായ തിരുവനതപുരത്തുനിന്നും ദക്ഷിണ കേരള രൂപതയിൽപ്പെട്ട വനിത പുരോഹിതയായി അവരോധിച്ചു.[7] വനിതാ പുരോഹിതയെ അവരോധിക്കാനുള്ള നീക്കങ്ങൽ 1970 ൽ തുടങ്ങിയെങ്കിലും[6] പത്തു വർഷത്തെ നീണ്ട വാദപ്രദിവാദങ്ങൾക്കും ശേഷമാണ് ഭൂരിപക്ഷ തീരുമാനത്തോടെ 1982ൽ അനുമതിയായത്. എലിസബത്ത് പോളായിരുന്നു, ആദ്യത്തെ[9]1989ൽ കേരളത്തിലെ ആദ്യത്തെ വനിത പുരോഹിതയായി. പഠനം
[തിരുത്തുക]കേരള സർവകലാശലയിൽ നിന്ന് ബിരുദം നേടി. തിരുവനതപുരത്തെ കേരള യുണൈറ്റഡ് തിയോളജിക്കൽ സെമിനാരിയിൽ മതശുശ്രൂഷയുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട പരിശീലനനം നേടി. തെലുങ്കാനയിലെ അഡിലബാദിലെ ബൈൻസയിൽ]] മിഷനറി പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങൾക്ക് പോയിരുന്നു.
