Parameters

The template has four optional parameters

• GivenName – The given name of the subject. If left blank this will default to the first word of the page title
• Patronymic – The inherited name of the subject. If left blank this will default to the second word of the page title
• Address – This allows for gendered addressing in the template to his or her. If left blank this will default to gender neutral their (the singular they)
• Matronymic or Family name – This allows to switch the template to indicate matronymics or family names by changing patronymic to matronymic. If left blank this will default to patronymic.

Usage

This template may be used at the top of an article to explain to readers which part of a patronymic name should be used to refer to the person in formal contexts. Patronymic names contain no family or last name. The person adapts the given name of their father, and sometimes also their grandfather afterwards.
