നാഷണൽ ലൈബ്രറി ഓഫ് റഷ്യ, റഷ്യയിലെ സെൻറ് പീറ്റേർസ്ബർഗിൽ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന രാജ്യത്തെ ഏറ്റവും പഴക്കമുള്ള പൊതു ലൈബ്രറി മാത്രമല്ല, ആദ്യത്തെ ദേശീയ ഗ്രന്ഥശാലയും കൂടിയാണ്. 1795 മുതൽ 1917 വരെ "ഇമ്പീരിയൽ പബ്ലിക് ലൈബ്രറി"; 1917 മുതൽ 1925 വരെ "റഷ്യൻ പബ്ലിക് ലൈബ്രറി"; 1925 മുതൽ 1992 വരെ "സ്റ്റേറ്റ് പബ്ലിക് ലൈബ്രറി"; (1932 മുതൽ എം. സാൾട്ടിക്കോവ് ഷെഡ്രിനോടുള്ള ബഹുമാന സൂചകമായി അദ്ദേഹത്തിൻറെ പേരു നൽകിയിരുന്നു) NLR; എന്നിങ്ങനെ വിവിധ പേരുകളിൽ ഈ ഗ്രന്ഥശാല അറിയപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നു. NLR ലോകത്തിലെ പ്രധാന ഗ്രന്ഥാലയങ്ങളിലൊന്നായി സ്ഥാനം നേടിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.
