അമിട്രോഫിക് ലാറ്ററൽ സ്‌ക്ലീറോസിസ്(എഎൽഎസ്) [2]ചികിത്സയ്ക്കായി ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്ന മരുന്നാണ് കൽസോഡി എന്ന ബ്രാൻഡ് നാമത്തിൽ വിൽക്കുന്ന ടോഫർസെൻ.[2]ടോഫെർസെൻ ഒരു ആന്റിസെൻസ് ഒലിഗോ ന്യൂക്ലിയോടൈഡാണ്. ഇത് സൂപ്പർഓക്സൈഡ് ഡിസ്മുട്ടേസ് 1 ന്റെ ഉൽപാദനത്തെ സഹായിക്കുന്നു. സാധാരണയായി അതിന്റെ മ്യൂട്ടന്റ് ഫോം ALS-മായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്ന ഒരു എൻസൈം ആണ്. ഇത് സുഷുമ്നാ നാഡിയിലേക്ക് ഇൻട്രാതെക്കൽ കുത്തിവയ്പ്പായി നൽകപ്പെടുന്നു.
