ഒരു ഫിജിയൻ ഒബ്‌സ്റ്റട്രീഷ്യൻ-ഗൈനക്കോളജിസ്റ്റാണ് ജെയിംസ് ഫോങ്. ആരോഗ്യ, മെഡിക്കൽ സേവന മന്ത്രാലയത്തിന്റെ (MOHMS) സ്ഥിരം സെക്രട്ടറി (PS) ആയി അദ്ദേഹം സേവനമനുഷ്ഠിക്കുന്നു.[1]
കോവിഡ്-19 പാൻഡെമിക് സമയത്ത്, ഫോംഗ് കോവിഡ്-19 ഇൻസിഡന്റൽ മാനേജ്‌മെന്റ് ടീമിനെ (IMT) നയിച്ചു. കൂടാതെ ദിവസേനയുള്ള പത്രസമ്മേളനങ്ങളിൽ കോവിഡ്-19 അപ്‌ഡേറ്റുകൾ നൽകുന്നതിൽ പ്രശസ്തനാണ്.[2]

ഫിജി നാഷണൽ യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റിയിൽ ബാച്ചിലർ ഓഫ് മെഡിസിൻ ആൻഡ് സർജറിയും മാസ്റ്റർ ഓഫ് മെഡിസിനും പൂർത്തിയാക്കിയ ശേഷം മുപ്പതു വർഷത്തോളം ഒബ്സ്റ്റട്രിക്സ് ആൻഡ് ഗൈനക്കോളജി സ്പെഷ്യലിസ്റ്റായി. പിന്നീട് കൊളോണിയൽ വാർ മെമ്മോറിയൽ ഹോസ്പിറ്റലിലെ ഒബ്സ്റ്റട്രിക്സ് ആൻഡ് -ഗൈനക്കോളജി വിഭാഗത്തിന്റെ തലവനായിരുന്നു.[3][4][5]
