ബ്രിട്ടീഷ് സൈന്യത്തിന്റെ ഭാഗമായിരുന്ന ഗഢ്വാൾ റൈഫിൾസ്സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യാനന്തരം ഭാരതീയ കരസേനയുടെ ഭാഗമായി മാറുകയാണുണ്ടായത്. 1887 ലാണ് ബംഗാൾ പട്ടാളത്തിന്റെ 39 അം വിഭാഗമായി ഈ സേന സേവനം തുടങ്ങിയത്.
യുദ്ധരംഗത്ത്
