എലൻ കൾവർ പോട്ടർ (ജീവിതകാലം: ആഗസ്റ്റ് 5, 1871 - ഫെബ്രുവരി 9, 1958) ഒരു അമേരിക്കൻ വൈദ്യനും പൊതുജനാരോഗ്യ ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥയുമായിരുന്നു.

തോമസ് വെൽസ് പോട്ടറിന്റെയും എലൻ ഹാരിസ് കൽവർ പോട്ടറിന്റെയും മകളായി കണക്റ്റിക്കട്ടിലെ ന്യൂ ലണ്ടനിലാണ് പോട്ടർ ജനിച്ചത്.[1][2] ബോസ്റ്റണിലും ന്യൂയോർക്ക് നഗരത്തിലും യൂറോപ്പിലും ഒരു യുവതിയായിരുന്ന കാലത്ത് അവർ കലാപരമാ വിഷയങ്ങൾ പഠിച്ചു.[3] ചൈന ടൗണിലെ ഒരു സെറ്റിൽമെന്റ് ഹൗസിൽ ജോലി ചെയ്ത അവർ, കൂടാതെ കണക്റ്റിക്കട്ടിലെ നോർവിച്ചിൽ ഒരു സെറ്റിൽമെന്റ് ഹൗസ് ആരംഭിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.[4] 1903-ൽ പെൻസിൽവാനിയയിലെ വുമൺസ് മെഡിക്കൽ കോളേജിൽ നിന്ന് ബിരുദം നേടിയ പോട്ടർ,[5] സ്‌കൂളിലെ പൂർവവിദ്യാർത്ഥി അസോസിയേഷനിൽ ഉൾപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നു.[6]

പെൻസിൽവാനിയയിലെ വുമൺസ് മെഡിക്കൽ കോളേജിൽ ഗൈനക്കോളജി കോഴ്സുകൾ പഠിപ്പിച്ച എലൻ കൾവർ പോട്ടർ,[7] കൂടാതെ സ്കൂൾ ആശുപത്രിയുടെ മെഡിക്കൽ ഡയറക്ടറുമായിരുന്നു. ബ്രൈൻ മാവർ കോളേജിലും അവർ സാമൂഹിക ശുചിത്വം എന്ന വിഷയം പഠിപ്പിച്ചു.
സ്വകാര്യ ജീവിതം[തിരുത്തുക]
എലൻ കൾവർ പോട്ടർ 1958-ൽ 86-ാം വയസ്സിൽ ഫിലാഡൽഫിയയിലെ വുമൺസ് മെഡിക്കൽ കോളേജ് ആശുപത്രിയിൽ വച്ച് അന്തരിച്ചു.[8][9][10] അവരുടെ വൈദ്യശാസ്ത്ര പ്രബന്ധങ്ങൾ ഡ്രെക്സൽ യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റി കോളേജ് ഓഫ് മെഡിസിൻ ആർക്കൈവുകളാണ്.[11]
