മനോഹരമായ കറുപ്പും വെളുപ്പും വളയങ്ങളുള്ള നീളമുള്ള വാലുകൊണ്ട് ശ്രദ്ധിക്കപ്പെടുന്ന ഒരു ലീമറാണ് റിങ്-റ്റെയ്ല്ഡ് ലീമർ (ശാസ്ത്രനാമം: Lemur catta). മിക്ക ലീമറുകളെയും പോലെ ഈ ലീമറും മഡഗാസ്കർ ദ്വീപിലാണ് ഇവ പൊതുവേ കാണപ്പെടുന്നത്. രാജ്യത്തിന്റെ ദേശീയമൃഗവുമാണ്. സസ്യമാംസാഹാരങ്ങൾ ഭക്ഷിക്കുന്ന റിങ്-റ്റെയ്ല്ഡ് ലീമർ പകൽമാത്രമേ സജീവമായി ഇറങ്ങിനടക്കാറുള്ളൂ.

- ↑ The synonym Mococo is sometimes omitted because it was technically a vernacular term for the genus Prosimia.[5] René Primevère Lesson named the type species for this genus as Prosimia catta (= Lemur catta Linnaeus, 1758) in the same year (1878).[4]
