മോസില്ല ഫൗണ്ടേഷന്റെ[1] ഒരു ഉപസ്ഥാപനമാണ് മോസില്ല മെസേജിംഗ് അഥവാ മോമോ.[2] മോസില്ലയുടെ വാർത്താവിനിമയ പദ്ധതികൾക്കായാണ് മോസില്ല മെസേജിംഗ് ആരംഭിച്ചത്. ഇൻസ്റ്റന്റ് മെസേജിംഗ്, ഇമെയിൽ ആപ്ലികേഷനുകളുടെ വികസനമായിരുന്നു ലക്ഷ്യം. ഇപ്പോൾ മോസില്ല ഫൗണ്ടേഷന്റെ ഇമെയിൽ ആപ്ലിക്കേഷനായ മോസില്ല തണ്ടർബേഡ് വികസിപ്പിക്കുന്നത് മോസില്ല മെസേജിംഗ് ആണ്.
2007ലാണ് മോസില്ല പ്രൊജക്ടിന്റെ അനുബന്ധമായി ഈ പദ്ധതി ആരംഭിച്ചത്. പിന്നീട് 2011 ഏപ്രിൽ നാലിന് മോസില്ല കോർപ്പറേഷന്റെ മോസില്ല ലാബ്സിലേക്ക് ഇതിനെ കൂട്ടിച്ചേർത്തു.[3]
