ഇക്വഡോറിന്റെ പ്രസിഡന്റായ സോഷ്യലിസ്റ്റ് നേതാവാണ് റാഫേൽ കൊറിയ.(ജനനം:6 ഏപ്രിൽ 1963). തുടർച്ചയായി മൂന്നു തവണ പ്രസിഡന്റായി.[1] ആരോഗ്യ, വിദ്യാഭ്യാസമേഖലകളിൽ വരുത്തിയ പരിഷ്കാരങ്ങളും സാമ്പത്തികമാന്ദ്യ സമയത്ത് സ്വീകരിച്ച നടപടികളും കൊറിയയെ ജനപ്രിയനാക്കി.[2] എണ്ണമേഖല സർക്കാറിന്റെ നിയന്ത്രണത്തിലാക്കാൻ ശ്രമിച്ചു. സ്വകാര്യമേഖലയെ പാടെ അവഗണിച്ചുകൊണ്ടുള്ള കൊറിയയുടെ നയങ്ങൾ ഇക്വഡോറിനെ പ്രതികൂലമായി ബാധിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടെന്ന് വിമർശനമുണ്ട്.

അമേരിക്കയിലെ ഇലനോയ് സർവകലാശാലയിൽ നിന്ന് ബിരുദം നേടിയിട്ടുണ്ട്[3]. സാമ്പത്തിക വിദഗ്ധനാണ്[4].
