ഇന്ത്യയിലെ വ്യാവസായിക സാമ്രാജ്യത്തിന്റെ പര്യായം എന്നു വിശേഷിപ്പിക്കാവുന്ന വ്യവസായ ഗ്രൂപ്പാണ് ടാറ്റ ഗ്രൂപ്പ് (ഹിന്ദി: टाटा समूह) അഥവാ ടാറ്റ കമ്പനി.ടാറ്റ എന്ന വാക്കിന്റെ അർത്ഥം ദേഷ്യക്കാരൻ എന്നാണ്.ജംഷഡ്ജി ടാറ്റയാണ് ടാറ്റ വ്യവസായ സ്ഥാപനത്തിന്റെ സ്ഥാപകൻ.ടാറ്റാഗ്രൂപ്പാണ് ഇന്ത്യയിലെ ഏറ്റവും വിപുലമായ കമ്പനി സമുച്ചയം. 2005-06 ൽ റവന്യൂ 96277.9 രൂപയായിരുന്നു ഈ കമ്പനിയുടേത്.ഇന്ത്യയുടെ ജി.ഡി.പി.യുടെ 2.8 ശതമാനം വരും ഇത്.ആറ് വൻകരകളിലായി 40 രാഷ്ട്രങ്ങളീൽ ടാറ്റ ഗ്രൂപ്പ് പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നു.140 രാജ്യങ്ങളീലേക്ക് ടാറ്റ് ഉല്പ്പന്നങ്ങൾ കയറ്റി അയക്കപ്പെടുന്നു.മൊത്തം ഉടമസ്ഥാവകാശത്തിന്റെ 65.8ശതമാനം ടാറ്റ ചാരിറ്റബിൽ ട്രസ്റ്റിന്റെ കീഴിലാണ്
