കാറ്റി എലിസബത്ത് ബ്രിട്ട് (ജനനം ഫെബ്രുവരി 2, 1982) ഒരു അമേരിക്കൻ രാഷ്ട്രീയക്കാരിയും അഭിഭാഷകയുമാണ്. അവർ 2023 മുതൽ അലബാമയിൽ നിന്നുള്ള ജൂനിയർ യുണൈറ്റഡ് സ്റ്റേറ്റ്സ് സെനറ്ററായി സേവനമനുഷ്ഠിക്കുന്നു. റിപ്പബ്ലിക്കൻ പാർട്ടി അംഗമായ ബ്രിട്ട് അലബാമയിൽ നിന്ന് യുഎസ് സെനറ്റിലേക്ക് തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കപ്പെട്ട ആദ്യ വനിതയും സെനറ്റിലേക്ക് തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കപ്പെട്ട ഏറ്റവും പ്രായം കുറഞ്ഞ റിപ്പബ്ലിക്കൻ പാർട്ടി വനിത അംഗവുമാണ്.[1] അവർ 2019 മുതൽ 2021 വരെ അലബാമയിലെ ബിസിനസ് കൗൺസിലിൻ്റെ പ്രസിഡൻ്റും സിഇഒയും ആയിരുന്നു. കൂടാതെ 2016 മുതൽ 2018 വരെ അവർ അവരുടെ സെനറ്റ് മുൻഗാമിയായ റിച്ചാർഡ് ഷെൽബിയുടെ ചീഫ് ഓഫ് സ്റ്റാഫായിരുന്നു.
ആദ്യകാല ജീവിതവും വിദ്യാഭ്യാസവും[തിരുത്തുക]
അലബാമയിലെ എൻ്റർപ്രൈസ് നഗരത്തിൽ ജൂലിയൻ്റെയും ഡെബ്ര ബോയിഡിൻ്റെയും [2] മകളായി 1982 ഫെബ്രുവരി 2-നാണ് കാറ്റി എലിസബത്ത് ബോയിഡ് [3][4] ബ്രിട്ട് ജനിച്ചത് .[5] അലബാമയിലെ ഡെയ്ൽ കൗണ്ടിയിൽ ഫോർട്ട് നോവോസലിന് (മുമ്പ് ഫോർട്ട് റക്കർ) പുറത്താണ് അവർ വളർന്നത്. അവരുടെ ചെറുപ്പകാലം മുഴുവൻ അവർ അവരുടെ കുടുംബത്തിൻ്റെ ബിസിനസ്സുകളിൽ പങ്കാളിയായി.[6] അവരുടെ പിതാവിന് ഒരു ഹാർഡ്‌വെയർ സ്റ്റോറും പിന്നീട് ഒരു ബോട്ട് ഡീലർഷിപ്പും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. അവരുടെ അമ്മയ്ക്ക് ഒരു ഡാൻസ് സ്റ്റുഡിയോ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.[7] എൻ്റർപ്രൈസ് ഹൈസ്കൂളിൽ നിന്ന് ബിരുദം നേടിയ ബ്രിട്ട് അവിടെ ഒരു ചിയർ ലീഡർ ആയിരുന്നു.2000-ൽ ബിരുദം നേടിയ ശേഷം അവർ 19 വാലിഡിക്റ്റോറിയന്മാരിൽ ഒരാളായിരുന്നു.[2] തുടർന്ന് അലബാമ യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റിയിൽ പൊളിറ്റിക്കൽ സയൻസ് പഠിച്ചു. അവർ അവിടുത്തെ സ്റ്റുഡൻ്റ് ഗവൺമെൻ്റ് അസോസിയേഷൻ്റെ പ്രസിഡൻ്റായി തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കപ്പെട്ടു.[8] കൂടാതെ 2004-ൽ അവർ സയൻസ് ബിരുദം നേടി. പിന്നീട് അവർ യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റി ഓഫ് അലബാമ സ്കൂൾ ഓഫ് ലോയിൽ ചേർന്നു. 2013 ൽ അവർ അവിടെ നിന്നും ബിരുദം നേടി.[9][10]
സ്വകാര്യ ജീവിതം[തിരുത്തുക]
മുൻ എൻഎഫ്എൽ കളിക്കാരനായ വെസ്ലി ബ്രിട്ടിനെയാണ് കാറ്റി ബ്രിട്ട് വിവാഹം കഴിച്ചത്. അലബാമ യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റിയിൽ പഠിക്കുമ്പോഴാണ് അവർ ആദ്യമായി കണ്ടുമുട്ടി.[11] 2008 മാർച്ച് 8 ന് അവർ വിവാഹിതരായി.[12] അലബാമയിലെ മോണ്ട്ഗോമറിയിൽ താമസിക്കുന്ന അവർക്ക് രണ്ട് കുട്ടികളുണ്ട്.[13][14]
