കുത്തകാവകാശമുള്ള ഒരു ഓഡിയോ/വീഡിയോ കോളിംഗ്, തൽക്ഷണ സന്ദേശമയയ്‌ക്കൽ സോഫ്റ്റ്‌വെയർ സേവനമാണ് ഐ എം ഒ .[1][2] വിവിധ സൗജന്യ സ്റ്റിക്കറുകൾക്കൊപ്പം സംഗീതം, വീഡിയോ, PDF-കൾ, മറ്റ് ഫയലുകൾ എന്നിവ അയയ്ക്കാൻ ഇത് അനുവദിക്കുന്നു.[3][4] 20 പേർ വരെ പങ്കെടുക്കുന്ന എൻക്രിപ്റ്റ് ചെയ്ത ഗ്രൂപ്പ് വീഡിയോ, വോയിസ് കോളുകൾ ഇതിനെ പിന്തുണയ്ക്കുന്നു.[5][6] അതിന്റെ ഡെവലപ്പർ ഈ സേവനത്തിന് 200 ദശലക്ഷത്തിലധികം ഉപയോക്താക്കൾ ഉള്ളതായി പറയുന്നു [1] . കൂടാതെ പ്രതിദിനം 50 ദശലക്ഷത്തിലധികം സന്ദേശങ്ങൾ ഇതിലൂടെ അയയ്‌ക്കപ്പെടുന്നു.[2]

ഫേസ്ബുക്ക് മെസഞ്ചർ, ഗൂഗിള് ടോക്ക്, യാഹൂ!, മെസഞ്ചർ, സ്കൈപ്പ് ചാറ്റ് എന്നിവയുൾപ്പെടെ ഒന്നിലധികം ചാറ്റ് പ്ലാറ്റ്‌ഫോമുകൾ[7] ലഭിക്കുന്നതിനായി 2005-ൽ ഒരു വെബ് അധിഷ്‌ഠിത ആപ്ലിക്കേഷനായി ഈ ഉൽപ്പന്നം സൃഷ്‌ടിച്ചു. [8] ഇത് വിപുലീകരിച്ചത് പേജ്ബൈറ്റ്സ് ആണ് കൂടാതെ ഉപയോക്താക്കളുടെ അക്കൗണ്ട് പരിശോധിക്കാൻ ഒരാളുടെ ഫോൺ നമ്പർ ആവശ്യമാണ്.[9] 2014 മാർച്ചിൽ, എല്ലാ മൂന്നാം കക്ഷി സന്ദേശമയയ്‌ക്കൽ നെറ്റ്‌വർക്കുകൾക്കുമുള്ള പിന്തുണ ഇത് അവസാനിപ്പിച്ചു.[10]
2018 ജനുവരിയിൽ, 500 ദശലക്ഷം ആപ്പ് ഇതിൽ സ്ഥാപിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.[11]
imo.im അതിന്റെ ചാറ്റുകൾക്കും കോളുകൾക്കുമായി എൻഡ്-ടു-എൻഡ് എൻക്രിപ്ഷൻ നടപ്പിലാക്കി. സംഭാഷണങ്ങൾ അയയ്ക്കുന്നയാൾക്കും സ്വീകരിക്കുന്നവർക്കും ഇടയിൽ സ്വകാര്യമായി തുടരുന്നുവെന്ന് ഇത് ഉറപ്പാക്കുന്നു.
