അക്സിപിറ്റ്റിഡേ കുടുംബത്തിൽപ്പെട്ട ഒരു വലിയ പരുന്ത് ആണ് സ്റ്റല്ലെർസ് സീ ഈഗിൾ (Haliaeetus pelagicus). 1811 ൽ പീറ്റർ സൈമൺ പല്ലാസ് ആണ് ഇവയെ ആദ്യം വിവരിച്ചത്. ഈ പക്ഷികളുടെ യാതൊരു ഉപജാതികളേയും തിരിച്ചറിഞ്ഞിട്ടില്ല. കറുത്ത തൂവലുകളും, വെളുത്ത ചിറകുകളും, വാലും, മഞ്ഞ നിറത്തിലുള്ള കൊക്കും കൈ നഖങ്ങളും ഇവയുടെ പ്രത്യേകതയാണ്. ശരാശരി 5 മുതൽ 9 കിലോഗ്രാം വരെ തൂക്കം വരുന്ന ഇവ ലോകത്തിലെ ഏറ്റവും ഭാരമുള്ള പരുന്ത് ആണ്. പക്ഷേ മറ്റ് ചില മാനദണ്ഡങ്ങളിൽ ഹാർപ്പി ഈഗിൾ, ഫിൽപ്പീൻ ഈഗിൾ എന്നിവക്ക് പിന്നിലാണ്.[3]
ഇത് തീരദേശ വടക്കുകിഴക്കൻ ഏഷ്യയിലാണ് ജീവിക്കുന്നത്. പ്രധാനമായും മീൻ, ജല പക്ഷികൾ എന്നിവയാണ് ആഹാരം. കിഴക്കൻ റഷ്യയിലെ കംചത്ക ഉപദ്വീപിൽ ഈ പക്ഷികൾ താരതമ്യേന വലിയ സംഖ്യയിൽ കാണപ്പെടുന്നു.[4] ഏതാണ്ട് 4,000 പക്ഷികൾ ഇവിടെയുണ്ട്. സ്റ്റല്ലെർസ് സീ ഈഗിൾ കഴുകൻ ഐ.യു.സി.എൻ ന്റെ റെഡ് ലിസ്റ്റ് ഓഫ് വംശനാശ ഭീഷണി നേരിടുന്ന ജീവികളുടെ റെഡ് ലിസ്റ്റിൽ ഉൾപെടുത്തിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.
