ലാ വെർണെ, അമേരിക്കൻ ഐക്യനാടുകളിലെ സംസ്ഥാനമായ കാലിഫോർണിയയിൽ, ലോസ് ആഞ്ചെലസ് കൌണ്ടിയിൽ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന ഒരു ചെറു നഗരമാണ്. 2010 ലെ യു.എസ്. സെൻസസ് പ്രകാരമുള്ള ഈ നഗരത്തിലെ ജനസംഖ്യ 31,063 ആയിരുന്നു. 2000 ലെ സെൻസസ് പ്രകാരമുണ്ടായിരുന്ന 31,638 എന്ന സംഖ്യയേക്കാൾ കുറഞ്ഞ ജനസംഖ്യയാണ് പിന്നീടു രേഖപ്പെടുത്തപ്പെട്ടത്.

1837-ൽ യിഗ്നേഷ്യോ പലോമറെസ് എന്നയാൾക്ക് ഗവർണർ ജുവാൻ ബൗട്ടിസ്റ്റ അൽവാറഡോയിൽ നിന്ന് 15,000 ഏക്കർ (61 ചതുരശ്ര കിലോമീറ്റർ) ഭൂമി "റാഞ്ചോ സാൻ ജോസ്" എന്ന പേരിലുള്ള ഭൂഗ്രാൻറായി ലഭ്യമായപ്പോൾ മുതൽ 1830-കളിലാണ് ഈ നഗരത്തിൻറെ ചരിത്രം ആരംഭിക്കുന്നത്. ഈ പതിച്ചുകിട്ടിയ ഭൂമിയിൽ ഇന്നത്തെ നഗരങ്ങളായ പെമോണ, ക്ലയർമോണ്ട്, സാൻ ഡിമാസ്, ഗ്ലെൻഡോറ, ലാ വെർണെ തുടങ്ങിയവ ഉൾപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നു.
