കീബോഡ് ഉപയോഗിച്ചു വായിക്കുന്ന ഒരു സംഗീതോപകരണമാണ്‌ പിയാനോ. സ്റ്റീല്‍ തന്ത്രികളില്‍ ഫെല്‍റ്റ് പിടിപ്പിച്ച ചുറ്റികകള്‍കൊണ്ട് തട്ടുമ്പോളാണ്‌ ഇതില്‍ ശബ്ദമുണ്ടാവുന്നത്, തന്ത്രികളെ മുട്ടിയയുടനെ ചുറ്റിക പിന്‍‌വലിക്കപ്പെടുകയും തന്ത്രികള്‍ അവയുടെ റെസൊണന്‍സ് ആവൃത്തിയില്‍ പ്രകമ്പനം തുടരുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.^[1] ഈ കമ്പനങ്ങള്‍ ഒരു ബ്രിഡ്‌ജിലൂടെ ഒരു സൗണ്ട്‌ബോര്‍ഡിലേക്ക് പ്രവഹിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു.പാശ്ചാത്യസംഗീതത്തില്‍ വളരെ വ്യാപകമായി ഉപയോഗിക്കപ്പെടുന്ന ഒരു സംഗീതോപകരണമായ പിയാനൊ ഒറ്റക്കോ പക്കമേളമായോ ഉപയോഗിക്കാം, സംഗീതസം‌വിധാനത്തിനും പരിശീലനത്തിനും പറ്റിയ ഒരു ഉപാധിയുമാണിത്.
