ലണ്ടനിലെ ഹാമേർസ്മിത്തി്ൽ, ചലച്ചിത്ര നിർമാതാവ് ആലിസൺ ഓവന്റെയും, വെൽഷ് നടി കീത്ത് അലൻ എന്നിവരുടെ മകണയാണ് അലൻ ജനിച്ചത്. ഗായിക ലില്ലി അലൻ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ മൂത്ത സഹോദരിയാണ്.[3] അവരുടെ ആൽഫീ എന്ന ഗാനം ആൽഫീ അലനെ ഉദ്ദേശിച്ചു എഴുതിയതാണ്.[4] മറ്റൊരു ബ്രിട്ടീഷ് ഗായകനായ സാം സ്മിത്ത് അലന്റെ മൂന്നാമത്തെ കസിൻ ആണ്.
