വാഷിങ്ടൺ, ഡി.സി.യിലെ നാസ ഹെഡ്ക്വാർട്ടേഴ്സിലെ നാഷണൽ എയ്റോനോട്ടിക്സ് ആൻഡ് സ്പേസ് അഡ്മിനിസ്ട്രേഷന്റെ (നാസ) ജ്യോതിർജീവശാസ്ത്ര പ്രോഗ്രാം ഡയറക്ടർ ആണ് ഡോ. മേരി ഏ. വോയ്ടെക്ക്.[1][2]2015-ൽ ഡോ. വോയിടെക് സൗരയൂഥേതരഗ്രഹങ്ങളുടെ ജീവനെ കണ്ടെത്തുന്നതിനായി നാസയുടെ ശാസ്ത്രസംരംഭ സിസ്റ്റങ്ങളുടെ നെക്സസ് ഫോർ എക്സോപ്ലാനറ്റ് സിസ്റ്റം സയൻസ് (NExSS) രൂപീകരിച്ചു.[3][4] വിഎ, റെസ്പോൺ, യുഎസ് ജിയോളജിക്കൽ സർവേയിൽ U.S. Geological Survey നിന്നാണ് ഡോ. വോയ്ടേക് നാസയിലെത്തിയത്. 1998 മുതൽ 2009 വരെ യു.ജി.ജി.എസ്. മൈക്രോബയോളജി ആൻഡ് മോളിക്യുലർ ഇക്കോളജി ലാബോറട്ടറിയിലെ മേലധികാരിയായിരുന്നു.[5][6]
