പതിനെട്ട് പുരാണങ്ങളിൽ മുഖ്യസ്ഥാനമർഷിക്കുന്ന ഒന്നാണ് ഭവിഷ്യപുരാണം(സംസ്കൃതം: भविष्य पुराण ; ഇംഗ്ലീഷ്: Bhaviṣyat Purāṇa)[1][2] ഭാവിയെപ്പറ്റിയുള്ള വസ്തുതകൾ വ്യക്തമാക്കുന്നതിനാലാണ് പുരാണത്തിന് ഭവിഷ്യം എന്ന പേര് ലഭിച്ചത്.[3] ഭവിഷ്യപുരാണം മനുസ്മൃതിയുടെ ആശയങ്ങൾ ഉൾകൊണ്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്.[4] ശങ്കരസംഹിതയിലെ വർഗ്ഗീഗരണമനുസരിച്ച് ഭവിഷ്യപുരാണം പത്ത് ശൈവപുരാണങ്ങളുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിൽ വരുന്നു.[5]
