(മാർച്ച് 1963 - 30 ഓഗസ്റ്റ് 2017). ക്രോണിക് മൈലോയ്ഡ് രക്താർബുദം (സിഎംഎൽ) അവർ പ്രത്യേകം ഗവേഷണം നടത്തുകയും അതിന്റെ വിത്തുകോശങ്ങൾ കണ്ടെത്തുകയും ചെയ്തു. രക്താർബുദം ഗവേഷണത്തിലെ ലോക പ്രമുഖ വിദഗ്ദ്ധയായി അവർ കണക്കാക്കപ്പെട്ടു.[1]

ടെസ്സ ഹോളിയോക്ക് പൊതു പ്രാക്ടീഷണറായ ആൻഡിയെ വിവാഹം കഴിച്ചു; അവർക്ക് മക്കളില്ലായിരുന്നു. മൗൺടെയ്ൻ ബൈക്കിംഗ്, ഹിൽ നടത്തം, കയാക്കിംഗ് എന്നിവ അവർ ആസ്വദിച്ചു. സൈക്ലിംഗ്, ക്ലൈംബിംഗ്, മൺറോ എന്നിവ ഉപയോഗിച്ച് രക്താർബുദ ഗവേഷണ കേന്ദ്രത്തിന് ധനസഹായം നൽകി. [2]

Most notably, she was the first to identify the existence of cancer stem cells in CML in 1999, during her research fellowship in Vancouver. Later, she demonstrated the resistance of these stem cells to CML-specific therapies such as imatinib. Holyoake made a world-leading contribution to her field by identifying key CML stem cell survival pathways that can be manipulated to develop potential new treatments.
