ജെയിംസ് കെയർഡ് ബർട്ട്
ഒരു അമേരിക്കൻ ഗൈനക്കോളജിസ്റ്റായിരുന്നു ജെയിംസ് കെയർഡ് ബർട്ട് (ജീവിതകാലം: ഓഗസ്റ്റ് 29, 1921[1] - ജൂലൈ 10, 2012[2]). അദ്ദേഹത്തെ ചിലപ്പോൾ "ലവ് സർജൻ" എന്ന് വിളിപ്പേരുണ്ട്.[3] ഒഹായോയിലെ ഡേട്ടണിൽ ആസ്ഥാനമാക്കി രണ്ട് പതിറ്റാണ്ടോളം പരിശീലനത്തിന് ശേഷം സ്ത്രീ രോഗികൾ അവരുടെ അറിവോ സമ്മതമില്ലാതെ യോനിയിൽ മാറ്റം വരുത്തിയതിന് ബർട്ടിനെതിരെ കേസെടുത്തു.[4]

ഒഹായോയിലെ ഡേട്ടണിൽ ജനിച്ച ബർട്ട് 1945-ൽ യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റി ഓഫ് റോച്ചസ്റ്റർ സ്കൂൾ ഓഫ് മെഡിസിനിൽ നിന്ന് എം.ഡി നേടി. 1951-ൽ ഒഹായോയിൽ ലൈസൻസ് നേടി.

Dr. Burt, once a well-regarded physician considered merely eccentric, began the special surgery in 1966. Explaining his philosophy in his 1975 book, Surgery of Love, Dr. Burt wrote: Women are structurally inadequate for intercourse. This is a pathological condition amenable to surgery. In franker terms, he also said that his surgery would turn women into horny little mice and asserted that the difference between rape and rapture is salesmanship.
