Dr William Ames, theologian (1576–1633)

വില്ല്യം അമെസ് (1576 - 14 നവംബർ 1633) ഒരു ഇംഗ്ലീഷ് പ്രോട്ടസ്റ്റന്റ് ദൈവികനും തത്ത്വചിന്തകനും വിവാദവാദിയുമായിരുന്നു. അദ്ദേഹം നെതർലണ്ടിൽ വളരെയധികം സമയം ചിലവഴിച്ചു. കാൽവിനിസ്റ്റുകൾക്കും അർമീനിയന്മാർക്കും ഇടയിലുള്ള വിവാദങ്ങളിൽ അദ്ദേഹം ഇടപെട്ടിരുന്നു.

ആദ്യകാല ജീവിതവും വിദ്യാഭ്യാസവും

അമെസ് ഇപ്സ്വിച്ച് എന്ന സ്ഥലത്ത് ജനിച്ചു. അമ്മയുടെ അമ്മാവൻ റോബർട്ട് സ്നാളിംഗിനോടൊപ്പം ബോക്സർഫോർഡിൽ വളർന്നു. 1594-ൽ കേംബ്രിഡ്ജിലെ ക്രൈസ്റ്റ് കോളേജിലായിരുന്നു വിദ്യാഭ്യാസം.ക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ ശിഷ്യനായ അദ്ധ്യാപകരായ വില്യം പെർക്കിൻസും അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ പിൻഗാമിയായ പോൾ ബെയ്നിയും അദ്ദേഹത്തെ സ്വാധീനിച്ചു. 1598-ൽ ബി.എ ബിരുദം ചെയ്തു. 1601-ൽ എം.എ ബിരുദം നേടി. ക്രൈസ്റ്റ്സ് കോളേജിൽ ഫെലോഷിപ്പിന് തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കപ്പെട്ടു.
