പ്രഭു സഭ അല്ലെങ്കിൽ ഹൗസ് ഓഫ് ലോഡ്സ് യുണൈറ്റഡ് കിങ്ഡത്തിലെ പാർലമെന്റിന്റെ ഉപരിസഭയാണ്. ഹൗസ് ഓഫ് കോമൺസ് പോലെ വെസ്റ്റ്മിൻസ്റ്റർ കൊട്ടാരത്തിലാണ് പ്രഭു സഭയും കൂടുന്നത്.[4]
ഹൗസ് ഓഫ് കോമൺസിലെ അംഗങ്ങളെയെല്ലാം ജനങ്ങൾ തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുകയാണെങ്കിൽ പ്രഭുസഭാംഗങ്ങളിൽ മിക്കവരേയും നിയമിക്കുകയാണു ചെയ്യുക.[5] ലോഡ്സ് സ്പിരിച്വൽ എന്നും ലോഡ്സ് ടെമ്പോറൽ എന്നും രണ്ടു രീതിയിലുള്ള മെംബർമാരാണിവിടെയുള്ളത്. ലോഡ്സ് സ്പിരിച്വലിൽ ഇംഗ്ലണ്ടിലെ വ്യവസ്ഥാപിതമായ ദേവാലയങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നുള്ള 26 ബിഷപ്പുകളാണ് അംഗങ്ങൾ. [6]എന്നാൽ ലോഡ്സ് ടെമ്പോറലിൽ പ്രധാനമന്ത്രിയുടെയോ ഹൗസ് ഓഫ് ലോഡ്സ് അപ്പോയിന്റ്മെന്റ് കമ്മിഷന്റെയോ ഉപദേശം കണക്കിലെടുത്ത് രാജകീയപദവിയിലുള്ള വ്യക്തി നിയമിക്കുന്നു. എങ്കിലും പാരമ്പര്യമായി ചിലരെ ഇതിൽ ഉൾപ്പെടുത്താറുണ്ട്. 199ലെ ഹൗസ് ഓഫ് ലോഡ്സ് ആക്റ്റു പ്രകാരം 92 പേരേ മാത്രമേ പാരമ്പര്യമായ ആളുകളെ നിയമിക്കാനാകൂ.[7] 4 ഡ്യൂക്കുകളും ഇതിൽപ്പെടും.[8] ഇതിൽ വളരെക്കുറച്ചു വനിതകളേ ഉണ്ടാവൂ. കാരണം പിന്തുടർച്ചയായി ലഭിക്കുന്ന ഈ പദവി കൂടുതലും പുരുഷന്മാർക്കാണു ലഭിക്കുക. എന്നാൽ, ഹൗസ് ഓഫ് കോമൺസിൽ 650 സീറ്റുകൾ ഉണ്ട്. പക്ഷെ, പ്രഭു സഭയിൽ ഇത്തരത്തിൽ എണ്ണം കണക്കുകൂട്ടിവച്ചിട്ടില്ല. ഇപ്പോൾ പ്രഭുസഭയിൽ 820 പ്രഭുക്കൾ ഉണ്ട്. ഇംഗ്ലണ്ടിലെ പ്രഭു സഭ മാത്രമാണ് ഇന്നു ലോകത്തിൽ ഉപരിസഭകളിൽ കീഴ്സഭയേക്കാൾ അംഗങ്ങളുള്ള ഒരേ ഒരു സഭയുള്ളത്. ഇരു സഭകളുള്ള മറ്റു രാജ്യങ്ങളിൽ ഉപരിസഭയിൽ ആണ് അധോസഭയെക്കാൾ കൂടുതൽ അംഗങ്ങൾ.
