ദാന്തെ ഗബ്രിയൽ റോസെറ്റിയുടെ ഏറ്റവും അറിയപ്പെടുന്ന കവിതയാണ് "ദി ബ്ലെസ്ഡ് ഡാമോസെൽ". കൂടാതെ അദ്ദേഹം വരച്ച വിഷയത്തെ ചിത്രീകരിക്കുന്ന പെയിന്റിംഗിന്റെ തലക്കെട്ടും (അതിന്റെ പകർപ്പും) ആണ് "ദി ബ്ലെസ്ഡ് ഡാമോസെൽ". 1850-ൽ പ്രീ-റാഫേലൈറ്റ് ജേർണലിലാണ് (The Germ (periodical)) ഈ കവിത ആദ്യമായി പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ചത്. റോസെറ്റി പിന്നീട് രണ്ടുതവണ കവിത പരിഷ്കരിക്കുകയും 1856, 1870, 1873 വർഷങ്ങളിൽ വീണ്ടും പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.[1]
എഡ്ഗർ അലൻ പോയുടെ "ദ റേവൻ" എന്ന കവിതയിൽ നിന്ന് ഈ കവിത ഭാഗികമായി പ്രചോദനം ഉൾക്കൊണ്ടതാണ്.[2] തന്റെ പ്രിയപ്പെട്ടവന്റെ മരണത്തിൽ ഭൂമിയിൽ ദുഃഖിക്കുന്ന ഒരു കാമുകിയുടെ വർണ്ണനം ആണിത്. സന്ദർഭത്തെ വിപരീതമായി പ്രതിനിധീകരിക്കാൻ റോസെറ്റി തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തു. സ്വർഗത്തിൽ നിന്ന് തന്റെ കാമുകനെ നിരീക്ഷിക്കുന്ന ഡമോസലിനെയും സ്വർഗത്തിൽ അവരുടെ പുനഃസമാഗമത്തിനായുള്ള അവളുടെ പൂർത്തീകരിക്കാത്ത ആഗ്രഹം എന്നിവയും കവിത വിവരിക്കുന്നു.
