ഇന്ത്യയുടെ പാർലമെന്റ് മന്ദിരമാണ് സൻസദ് ഭവൻ. ന്യൂഡെൽഹിയിലെ സൻസദ് മാർഗ്ഗിലാണ് സൻസദ് ഭവൻ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നത്.
ചരിത്രം
ഹൗസ് ഒഫ് പാർലമെന്റ് എന്നാണ് സൻസദ് ഭവൻ ആദ്യം അറിയപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നത്. 1912-1913 കാലയളവിൽ ബ്രിട്ടീഷ് വാസ്തുശില്പികളായിരുന്ന എഡ്വിൻ ല്യുട്ടിൻസും ഹെർബെർട്ട് ബേക്കറും ചേർന്നാണ് ഈ മന്ദിരത്തിന്റെ രൂപകല്പന നിർവഹിച്ചത്. 1921-ൽ നിർമ്മാണം ആരംഭിച്ച് 1927-ൽ പൂർത്തിയാക്കി. ഈ കെട്ടിടത്തിന്റെ ഉദ്ഘാടനം 1927 ജനുവരി 18ന് അന്നത്തെ വൈസ്രോയ് ആയിരുന്ന ഇർവിൻ നിർവഹിച്ചു.[1]
സൻസദ് ഭവനോട് ചേർന്ന് 2006ൽ പാർലമെന്റ് മ്യൂസിയവും പ്രവർത്തം ആരംഭിച്ചു.
കെട്ടിടം
വൃത്താകൃതിയിൽ, ചുറ്റുമായി തൂണുകളോട്കൂടിയ ഒരു രൂപകല്പനയാണ് പാർലമെന്റ് മന്ദിരത്തിന്റേത്. പാർലമെന്റിനു പരിസരത്തായി വിശാലമായ ഉദ്യാനവും രൂപകല്പന ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു. വൃത്താകൃതിയിലുള്ള ഈ മന്ദിരത്തിന്റെ വ്യാസം 560 അടിയാണ്. മന്ദിരത്തിന് ചുറ്റുമായി 144 വൻതൂണുകൾ ഉണ്ട്. ഇവ ഓരോന്നിന്റെയും ഉയരം 270 അടിയാണ്. 12 കവാടങ്ങൾ മന്ദിരത്തിനുണ്ട്. ഇതിൽ സൻസദ് മാർഗിലുള്ള ഒന്നാം സംഖ്യാകവാടമാണ് പ്രധാനകവാടം
പാർലമെന്റിന്റെ ഇരു സഭകളായ ലോക്‌സഭയും, രാജ്യസഭയും സൻസദ്ഭവനിലാണ് ചേരുന്നത്
