ഇന്ത്യയിലെ ഝാർഖണ്ഡ്‌ സംസ്ഥാനത്തെ ഭരണത്തലവൻ ആണ് ഝാർഖണ്ഡ്‌ മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി. ഇന്ത്യൻ ഭരണഘടനയനുസരിച്ച് സംസ്ഥാനത്തലത്തിൽ ഡി ജൂറി തലവൻ ഗവർണ്ണർ ആണെങ്കിൽ ഡി ഫാക്ടോ ഭരണകർത്താവ് മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിയാണ്. നിയമസഭാ തെരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പിൽ ഏറ്റവും കൂടുതൽ സീറ്റ് കിട്ടുന്ന കക്ഷിയുടെ/മുന്നണിയുടെ നിയമസഭാകക്ഷിനേതാവിനെയാണ് മന്ത്രിസഭയുണ്ടാക്കാൻ സംസ്ഥാന ഗവർണർ ക്ഷണിക്കുന്നത്. മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിയെ നിയമിക്കുന്നത് ഗവർണ്ണറാണ്. മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി തലവനായ മന്ത്രിസഭയിലെ അംഗങ്ങൾക്കെല്ലാം ഭരണം സുഗമമാക്കുന്നതിൽ കൂട്ടുത്തരവാദിത്വമാണുള്ളത്. ഭൂരിപക്ഷ പിന്തുണയോടെ അധികാരത്തിലേറി കഴിഞ്ഞാൽ മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിയുടെ ഭരണകാലാവധി സാധാരണ 5 വർഷമാണ്; ഒരാൾക്ക് എത്ര തവണ മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിയാകണമെന്നതിനു പരിധിയൊന്നുമില്ല[1].

2000 നവംബർ 15 നു സംസ്ഥാനം രൂപീകരിച്ചതുമുതൽ ആറു പേർ ഇതുവരെ മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി സ്ഥാനം വഹിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. ആദ്യ മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി ബാബുലാൽ മറാൻഡി ആയിരുന്നു. ഏറ്റവും കൂടുതൽ കാലം സ്ഥാനം വഹിച്ച അർജുൻ മുണ്ഡ പക്ഷെ ഇതുവരെ ഒരു മുഴുവൻ ഭരണകാലവും ഈ സ്ഥാനത്തിരുന്നിട്ടില്ല. ഷിബു സോറനും മകൻ ഹേമന്ത് സോറനും മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിമാരായിട്ടുണ്ട്. സ്വതന്ത്ര സ്ഥാനാർഥി ആയിരുന്ന മധു കോഡയും ഝാർഖണ്ഡ്‌ മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി ആയിട്ടുണ്ട്[2] . മൂന്നു സമയങ്ങളിലായി ഝാർഖണ്ഡ്‌ രാഷ്ട്രപതി ഭരണവും ഉണ്ടായി. ഇപ്പോൾ ഹേമന്ത് സോറനാണ് ഝാർഖണ്ഡ്‌ മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി.
