Václav Fomíč Nižínskij, റഷ്യൻ ഉച്ചാരണം: [ˈvatsləf fɐˈmʲitɕ nʲɪˈʐɨnskʲɪj]; Polish: Wacław Niżyński, IPA: [ˈvatswaf ɲiˈʐɨj̃skʲi]; 12 മാർച്ച്1889[1][2]/1890[3] – 8 ഏപ്രിൽ 1950) ഇരുപതാം നൂറ്റാണ്ടിന്റെ തുടക്കത്തിലെ ഏറ്റവും മികച്ച പുരുഷ നർത്തകനും ആയിരുന്നു.[3]പോളിഷ് മാതാപിതാക്കൾക്ക് കിയെവിൽ ജനിച്ച നിജിൻസ്കി ഇംപീരിയൽ റഷ്യയിലാണ് വളർന്നതെങ്കിലും സ്വയം പോളിഷ് ആണെന്ന് കരുതി.[4]വൈദഗ്ധ്യത്തിനും സ്വഭാവ സവിശേഷതകളുടെ ആഴത്തിനും തീവ്രതയ്ക്കും വേണ്ടിയാണ് അദ്ദേഹം ആഘോഷിച്ചത്. അക്കാലത്ത് പുരുഷ നർത്തകർക്കിടയിൽ അപൂർവമായ ഒരു വൈദഗ്ദ്ധ്യത്തോടെ അദ്ദേഹം നൃത്തം ചെയ്യുമായിരുന്നു. [5] ഗുരുത്വാകർഷണത്തെ നിരാകരിക്കുന്ന കുതിച്ചുചാട്ടത്തിന് അദ്ദേഹത്തെ പ്രശംസിച്ചിരുന്നു.
