അമേരിക്കൻ മ്യൂസിയം ഓഫ് നാച്ചുറൽ ഹിസ്റ്ററി (AMNH എന്ന് ചുരുക്കത്തിൽ) ന്യൂയോർക്ക് നഗരത്തിൽ മാൻഹാട്ടന്റെ അപ്പർ വെസ്റ്റ് സൈഡിൽ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന ലോകത്തിലെ ഏറ്റവും വലിയ പ്രകൃതി ചരിത്ര മ്യൂസിയമാണ്. സെൻട്രൽ പാർക്കിൽ നിന്നുള്ള തെരുവിന് മറുവശത്ത് തിയോഡോർ റൂസ്‌വെൽറ്റ് പാർക്കിൽ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന ഈ മ്യൂസിയ സമുച്ചയത്തിൽ 28 പരസ്പരബന്ധിതമായ കെട്ടിടങ്ങളും 45 സ്ഥിരം പൊതുപ്രദർശന ഹാളുകളും കൂടാതെ ഒരു പ്ലാനറ്റോറിയവും ഗ്രന്ഥശാലയും ഉൾപ്പെടുന്നു. സസ്യങ്ങൾ, മൃഗങ്ങൾ, ഫോസിലുകൾ, ധാതുക്കൾ, പാറകൾ, ഉൽക്കാശിലകൾ, മനുഷ്യാവശിഷ്ടങ്ങൾ, മനുഷ്യ സാംസ്കാരികമായ കരകൌശല വസ്തുക്കൾ എന്നിവയുടെ ഏകദേശം 33 ദശലക്ഷത്തിലധികം[4] മാതൃകകൾ അടങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്ന മ്യൂസിയം ശേഖരത്തിന്റെ ഒരു ചെറിയ ഭാഗം മാത്രമേ ഏത് സമയത്തും പ്രദർശിപ്പിക്കാൻ സാധിക്കുകയുള്ളു, കൂടാതെ ഇതിന് 2 ദശലക്ഷത്തിലധികം ചതുരശ്രയടി വിസ്തീർണ്ണമുണ്ട് (190,000 ചതുരശ്ര കിലോമീറ്റർ). 225 അംഗങ്ങളുള്ള ഒരു മുഴുവൻ സമയ ശാസ്ത്ര ജീവനക്കാരുടെ സേവനം ഈ മ്യൂസിയത്തിലുണ്ട്, ഓരോ വർഷവും 120 പ്രത്യേക ഫീൽഡ് പര്യവേഷണങ്ങൾ[5] ഇവിടെനിന്നു സ്പോൺസർ ചെയ്യുന്നതു കൂടാതെ പ്രതിവർഷം ശരാശരി അഞ്ച് ദശലക്ഷം പേർ ഇവിടെ സന്ദർശനവും നടത്തുന്നു.[6]
