കുടുംബം
എൻജിനിയർ അൽഫ്രെഡ് എഡ്ലർ വോൺ [1] 1824, തിമിസോറ (1924), അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ഭാര്യ ഹെർമെയ്ൻ ബെർഗൗർ (1853, ലിൻസ് - 1924) എന്നിവരുടെ മകനായി ക്ലാജൻഫർട്ട്, കാരിന്ത്യയിൽ ജനിച്ചു. ഓറിയന്റലിസ്റ്റ് അലോയിസ് മസിൽ ("ചെക്ക് ലോറൻസ് ") അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ രണ്ടാമത്തെ കസിൻ ആയിരുന്നു. [2]
റോബർട്ട് ജനിച്ചതിനു ശേഷം കുടുംബം ബൊഹീമിയയിലെ ചോമറ്റോവിലേക്ക് താമസം മാറി. 1891- ൽ ബ്രുനോയിലെ ജർമ്മൻ ടെക്നിക്കൽ യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റിയിൽ മെക്കാനിക്കൽ എൻജിനീയറിംഗിൻറെ ചെയർമാനായി മസിലിന്റെ പിതാവിനെ നിയമിക്കുകയും പിന്നീട് ആസ്ട്രോ-ഹംഗേറിയൻ സാമ്രാജ്യത്തിലെ പാരമ്പര്യ ശ്രേഷ്ഠത വർദ്ധിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. ജഞാനസ്നാനസമയത്ത് റോബർട്ട് മത്തിയാസ് മസിൽ എന്ന് അദ്ദേഹം അറിയപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നെങ്കിലും1917 ഒക്ടോബർ 22 മുതൽ റോബർട്ട് മാത്തിയസ് എഡ്ലർ വോൺ മസിൽ എന്ന പേരിൽ ഔദ്യോഗികമായി അറിയപ്പെടാൻ തുടങ്ങി. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ പിതാവ് എഡ്ലർ ആകുകയും 1912 ഏപ്രിൽ 3 ന് മാന്യമായ ശീർഷകങ്ങളുടെ ഉപയോഗം ഓസ്ട്രിയയിൽ നിഷിദ്ധമായിരുന്നതുവരെ അദ്ദേഹം സ്ഥാനപ്പേർ ഉപയോഗിച്ചിരുന്നു.
