ഗ്വാളിയാർ(ഹിന്ദി /മറാത്തി : ग्वालियर )ഇന്ത്യയിലെ മദ്ധ്യപ്രദേശ് സംസ്ഥാനത്തിലെ ഒരു പട്ടണമാണ്. മദ്ധ്യ പ്രദേശിന്റെ തലസ്ഥാനമായ ഭോപാൽ പട്ടണത്തിനു വടക്ക് 423 കിലോ മീറ്റർ (263 മൈൽ) ദൂരത്തിലും ആഗ്ര പട്ടണത്തിനു തെക്ക് 122 കിലോ മീറ്റർ ദൂരത്തിലും സ്ഥിത ചെയ്യുന്നു.ഇന്ത്യയിലെ ഗിര്ദ് മേഖലയിൽ വരുന്ന ഈ പട്ടണവും അതിലെ കോട്ടയും വടക്കേ ഇന്ത്യൻ രാജവംശങ്ങളുടെ കേന്ദ്രമായീ പുകൾ പറ്റതാണ്.ഈ പട്ടണം ഗ്വാളിയാർ ജില്ലയുടെയും ഗ്വാളിയാർ മേഖലയുടെയും ഭരണ കേന്ദ്രമാണ്.

ഗ്വാളിയാർ കോട്ടയുടെ ഭരണം എട്ടാം നൂറ്റാണ്ടിൽ രജപുത്ര രാജവംശമായ തോമരന്മാരിൽ നിന്നും മുഗലന്മാരും,ശേഷം 1754 ലിൽ സിന്ധ്യ കുടുംബത്തിന്റെ നേതൃത്വത്തിൽ മറാത്തക്കാരും അതിനു ശേഷം ജ്താന്സിയിലെ ലക്ഷ്മി ഭായീ - താന്തിയ തോപ്പി സഖ്യവും അവരിൽ നിന്നും ബ്രിട്ടീഷ്‌കാരുമായിരുന്നു.
